Volunteering is a rewarding opportunity, giving you the chance to make a difference in the lives of our patients and their families. We rely heavily on our caring volunteers throughout the community in many important capacities to further our work and improve the lives of our patients. We excitedly welcome and encourage members from all communities be part of our team!
Where would you volunteer?
Henry Ford Health System has multiple facilities in Michigan that offer opportunities for you.
Some examples of where you can choose to spend your time are the pharmacy, retail shops, emergency, pet therapy, music and art enrichment, radiology, surgery, pastoral care, oncology and various clinics. Some volunteers work on special projects events such as blood pressure clinics, blood drives and other special events. Please see our detailed list by visiting our Volunteer Opportunities Link.
When would you volunteer?
There are opportunities for you to work any time of the day or night, any day of the week, depending on the position you choose. Volunteers commit to a weekly four- hours shift minimum; however, depending on department needs additional hours may be optional.
Volunteer requirements
Must be at least 15 years old
You must complete a volunteer application, attend orientation and complete all the required trainings.
You must have a TB test. (This is provided for you for free)
You must consent to a criminal background check.
